SEND inspection update
In November 2016 Rochdale was inspected in regards to Special Education Needs or Disabilities (SEND) provision for children and young people. This was a joint inspection by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The inspection found that Rochdale had four areas of concern and was required to produce an action plan of how these concerns would be tackled. The progress that Rochdale has made in these areas has lead to an ease in the monitoring of its response.
The SEND action plan and letter from the Children and Families Minister can be found by clicking here.
Rochdale has made some really good progress and while the inspection did highlight concerns it was ultimately in our families best interests that these concerns were acknowledged and worked on. Rochdale Parent Carers Voice has endeavoured to put forward the opinions, thoughts, concerns and needs of our families with a view to keeping them at the heart of the changes and we will continue to do so.
As always please do get in touch with Rochdale Parent Carers Voice if you would like to get more involved and have a direct impact on how services develop.
